Pages & Posts
Creating and managing pages and posts with Rouben is similar to any other WordPress theme. However, Rouben adds some special settings to them so you can control layout and some other content.
Page Templates#
Page template dropdown is located in Page Attributes meta box in the editor sidebar. Rouben adds multiple page template once activated. Of course you may have other page templates that's added by other plugins.
Rouben Page Templaes#
- Default Template - The default page template, without sidebar.
- Page with Sidebar - Similar to the default page template but it has a sidebar (side sliding panel).
- Hero Message - A page template meant to be used as a home page (but can be used anywhere), it features a creative hero message with interactive custom background (check out the home page of the theme demo).
- Portfolio (Multiple Layouts) - Displays portfolio items in multiple layouts (grid, masony, list ..etc) in addition to any content from the main editor (FullScreen and Slideshow layouts doesn't show editor content by default, you can activate it from the template settings). The editor content comes below the special template content (projects).
- Blog (Multiple Layouts) - Displays posts in multiple layouts (list, alternating and carousel) in addition to any content from the main editor. The editor content comes below the special template content (posts).
Template Settings#
Most of Rouben page templates has special settings to control the special template content, these settings can be found under Template Settings meta box located in the editor sidebar, and it shows only the settings related to the selected page template. No settings will be shown in this area if the selected page template has no settings.
Start by choosing a page template, then its special settings will appear in the mentioned area.
Post Formats#
When the post is assigned to one of the theme-supported formats, the thumbnail of the post will show a visual identification to reflect that.
Rouben supports the following post formats:
- Standard
- Link
- Video
- Audio
- Quote
- Gallery
Page & Post Layout Settings#
You can control some layout settings related to the page/post from Layout Settings meta box that is located in the editor sidebar.
The settings that you can control are related to the header & the intro of the page/post. Some of these settings override a global setting in the theme settings (in the WP customizer). This way you can control the header & intro settings of each page/post separatly if you want.
